Over the past few months, the I’m Weather team has been working on a range of improvements and as of today, you can start enjoying them all.
The biggest and most important update happened behind the scenes. As a result, the map view is now significantly improved. Stepping through time, zooming in and out, it’s all much faster and smoother. And here’s another benefit: I’m Weather now puts much less strain on your hardware!
You can now toggle animated air particles to make flow patterns visible on the map. It is a powerful visual feature that reveals how the air moves. The button is located in the menu at the top right of the map view.
We’ve added new functionality to the map view. If you’re viewing multiple elements at once, you can now toggle each one individually with the small buttons at the top right.
And via the settings button (gear icon), you get access to even more controls. For example:
Try out what works best for your device!
We’ve reorganized the map interface for clarity. Since we now place key map elements in the top-left corner, the selection menu has moved to the bottom-left. It might take some time getting used to, but now model, element, and run are grouped logically together.
We’ve also added more element combinations to explore.
The Locations tab has been simplified and redesigned for a cleaner experience. You will always see which location you’re viewing, and it’s now easier than ever to switch between Compare and Scenario Forecasts (Pro account required).
This section also benefits from the performance upgrades under the hood. Location forecasts now load much faster.
Our team will continue with development throughout the summer, with many more features and visual upgrades on the way. A key feature we’re working on next: custom weather thresholds.
Want to know when it hits 25°C? Or when the wind reaches 21 knots? Soon, you’ll be able to define your own thresholds and instantly see when conditions match.
Do you have ideas or suggestions? Drop them in via the feedback option in the account menu, or directly here. Let’s keep improving I’m Weather together so that you too can say with confidence: I’m Weather.
Until next time,
The I’m Weather Team
