Over the past few months, the Infoplaza development team has been working tirelessly to future-proof I’m Weather.
The code has been almost entirely rewritten, and the entire platform has migrated to a new, scalable environment. This ensures optimal load balancing, making I’m Weather more stable and robust than ever before.
More data, more power
Another major advantage is the massive expansion of our storage capacity. This prepares us to ingest significantly more data and allows us to manage it more intelligently, for instance by customizing the number of available runs per model.

And this expansion is necessary: we are set to significantly increase the number of weather models in the near future. We already have several exciting new models lined up! With so much extra data and server power, it’s essential to keep a close eye on performance. That’s why our engineers have built a brand-new monitoring system that instantly alerts us to any disruptions or performance issues, allowing us to identify and resolve causes at lightning speed.
Faster than ever
As an I’m Weather user, you will immediately notice that weather models are available much faster. By sourcing data directly from the origin and bypassing intermediate stations, some models are now available 45 to 60 minutes earlier! Achieving this required a meticulous review and partial rewrite of all model configurations. It was a painstaking task, but we are proud to say: mission accomplished!

Looking ahead
With these innovations, we’ve built a weather platform that is more flexible, robust, and reliable. At Infoplaza, we are now shifting our focus toward the frontend. Together with our meteorologists, we are working on new products and innovative ways to present our data.
